Merge with Bactria[edit]

Hello User: पाटलिपुत्र, What do you think about merging this article with the article of Bactria? Kind regards Xerxes931 (talk) 11:31, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, just saw that there was a talk already and you left a comment as well Xerxes931 (talk) 11:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hunting scene,Kafyr Kala, Tajikistan, 7th century CE. National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan[edit]

It seems to me as though this is a lion on the back of a centaur, not exactly a hunting scene. Can anybody who has seen it more clearly give a fuller explanation? 78.150.232.249 (talk) 22:53, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"ancient Early Middle Ages"[edit]

The first paragraph of the lead states that Tokharistan is an "ancient Early Middle Ages" name given to the region formerly known as Bactria. The use of ancient as a qualifier for Early Middle Ages seems strange and confusing. As I can gather from the article itself, it seems like the name has ancient origins, but only began to be used to designate a specific polity of some sort in the Early Middle Ages, in which case the lead should reflect that more clearly. If I am wrong as to the nature of the term's usage, I still would argue it better to clarify what exactly is ancient and what is medieval about this term.
