Sales[edit]

... "Tokimeki Memorial," a role-playing love-story simulation game that was first introduced in 1995. In the game, the player attempts to win the heart of a schoolgirl (tokimeki means "heartbeat") by choosing from among several phrases to ask her for a date. Often described as a game for nerds, it was an instant hit and sold 530,000 copies.

... the standard-setter has been Konami's Tokimeki Memorial, which came out in 1994 and has sold 1.1 million copies.

So which is it? 530k by 2002 or 1.1M by 1996? (not watching, please {{ping}}) czar 01:49, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– Per WP:VG naming guidelines, the series should be primary here. There are an absolute ton of games in it as well as other media. It's rare that a video game is primary over the series and I don't think the original Tokimeki Memorial rises to that level.
