The title[edit]

Since "specific Asia" is not still popular term, I placed Japanese term "Tokutei Asia", which have been used in Japan for several years, as the title. -Eurodollers (talk) 03:21, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Often or not[edit]

In Japanese article, there is a sentence "メディア上で多用される". This means "often used on medias". --218.221.132.59 (talk) 10:07, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I regret to see someone recognize oneself as "Japanese" has such poor understanding of Japanese text. The full sentence of what you partially quoted from the Japanese Wikipedia is "メディア上で多用される「アジア」「アジア諸国」「アジア外交」等に対するアンチテーゼとしての性格を持つ", which can be translated as "[the word Tokutei Asia] is used as an antithesis of the phrases such as 'Asia,' 'Asian countries,' or 'foreigm policies toward Asia', which are widely used by the media." This rather proves that "Tokutei Asia" is not widely used among the media. And this word is no doubt a slang and a derogatory word. Even the article of Japanese Wikipedia clearly states it. --Aotake (talk) 16:58, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you. As I wrote, this is/was not popular term yet, however, neither is a Japanese slang. It should be called "a slang used in some/certain Japanese medias or groups". It is a bit difficult to define. That is why I placed "Japanese term" when I wrote this article. --Eurodollers (talk) 05:32, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV problems[edit]

This article currently has major WP:NPOV problems, and needs a substantial rewrite to meet the Neutral Point of View policy. Much of the material is either unrelated to the term itself, or directly contentious; I've removed it, and stripped the article back to a bare definition. Since the references provided in the remaining text didn't seem to have any relevant information to support the definition either, I've removed them, too. -- The Anome (talk) 14:53, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
