Passed over in 1924[edit]

Just re-reading "Politicians And the Slump", Skidelsky's study of the 1929-31 Labour government. He makes mention of some incident in 1923 in which Johnston impugned Asquith's honour (or something) in the House of Commons and refused to apologise, and as a result was passed over for office in the 1924 Labour Government.
