HoP Commemoration - died on service?

[edit]

This is a general question relating to the Houses of Parliament commemoration to those who died fighting in WW1 on this page. There are 3 names and 2 of them have an asterisk affixed to the start; the asterisk relates to "Died on Service". Thomas Kettle does not have an asterisk affixed to his name, and yet he died actually fighting on the front. Why is he not counted as having died on service??
