Who really edited this book?[edit]

I think I've read somewhere that Fred Pohl or someone similar actually chose the stories and did the real work, with Heinlein basically just sticking his name on the book. I could be wrong, though.... Hayford Peirce 18:36, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's certainly the impression I had gotten, at least from the published references, but if there's information in the Merril archives that indicates otherwise I'd be delighted. I do know that RAH was reluctant to do the work himself, stating that he wasn't current with the field and didn't have a clue as to how to approach the writers and write the contracts, not to mention his disinclination to antagonize the authors whose work he didn't chose.
