The official site for Tony Jay http://www.poetsonbroadway.com/ is going to be removed from the reference links. The server is no longer available. Red13utterfly 8:33PM, December 06 2006

I can't find any link on the Obit reference that links outside of Wikipedia. Google has a lot of links to various obits, but none referencing The Jewish Chronicle --Register allocation 04:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World of Warcraft Race Introduction

[edit]

Since Tony Jay sadly passed in 2006, I imagine it is likely he had no participation in the new WoW expansion. Since the same narrator does the introduction VO for the Death Knight class, I also imagine that we can remove the WoW introduction VOs as a miscredit. I agree, and we should add the Magtheridon credit to the axe list, as well. If you listen closely, the Magtheridon and the race intro actors are the same. Also, Earl Boen is already credited with the role of Magtheridon, both on Wikipedia and IMDB. Listening closely, the voiceovers are similar to Tony Jay, but they simply aren't him.SereneAurora (talk) 23:29, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anything else on being Jewish?

[edit]

Just the one statement or what? Was he an active Jew, Orthodox, Reform, Hasidic, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coffee4binky (talkcontribs) 05:01, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Magtheridon

[edit]

Does anyone have a solid reference that Tony Jay voiced Magtheridon in World of Warcraft? Tony Jay was ill most of the time that Burning Crusade was in development. Again, the page for Earl Boen has him credited for it as well. While I agree Magtheridon's voice is similar to Tony Jay, it simply isn't him.SereneAurora —Preceding undated comment added 22:22, 20 October 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Wording

[edit]

He was also, he was also, he was also. Anyone else notice that this seems to have been written less like an encyclopedia entry and more like a rabid fan rattling off his achievements to jog someone's memory? Just sayin. 24.126.251.42 (talk) 14:58, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death

[edit]

I don't get it... if he had a non cancerous tumor in his lungs, then what makes his death caused by lung cancer? The articles that are available make no mention of his death being caused by cancer in any way. Shouldn't it be more classified as "Complications of surgery for non cancerous tumor" or simply "Complications of surgery?" It simply doesn't make sense that it is generalized that it was lung cancer that did him in when the tumor was never cancerous to begin with. Opinions? 76.175.83.154 (talk) 05:26, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't worry too much about what wikis say. MobyGames is an unreliable source, and it can't be used for citations; however, it's usually right. Hollywood.com is sometimes inaccurate, but it's usually a good starting point, even if you don't 100% trust its data. At least some of its data comes from Baseline. AllMovie is similar to Hollywood.com but more reliable, though some editors dislike using it. The American Film Institute and British Film Institute are usually very reliable. These are your best opportunities to find a correct filmography. Variety reviews are probably the best of the freely-available online resources, but they generally only credit the stars. IGN is a good resource for video games, and TV Guide (for American shows) and Radio Times (for British shows) can usually be relied upon for television work. Years active

[edit]

Can anyone can point to a source for the claim that Jay was doing some form of professional drama from 1966? He has said that he acted in amateur plays in England before leaving for South Africa, but there does not seem to be any evidence for professional work prior to his involvement in productions for Springbok Radio in 1969. For this reason I would like to change the "Years Active" category from 1966 to 1969. DocDee (talk) 23:40, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Wasn’t he nominated an Annie award for his work as Frollo in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”?Austin012599 (talk) 23:40, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's what the article says. - SummerPhDv2.0 18:02, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Married once or twice?

[edit]

In the career section under United States it says that he met Kathy Rogers who would go on to be his second wife . But in the section on Personal Life it says that he had a relationship with the same woman from 1974 to his death in 2006 and that they only got married in 2004. Nothing about a second wife 24.168.65.111 (talk) 13:59, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
