Article Title[edit]

I do not know the process of choosing article names for archeological sites like this so please enlighten me if there is an explanation. I decided to investigate the chosen name because I have not heard these monuments called this before in my native Turkish or in English. A quick google search shows that the term "tonyukuk inscriptions" returns around 11500 results while "Bain Tsokto inscriptions" returns only 6790. On the academic side of things, when searching google scholar, the term "tonyukuk inscriptions" returns 664 results while "Bain Tsokto inscriptions" returns only 74. Perhaps most importantly among the four citations on this article two of them refer to the inscriptions as "tonyukuk inscriptions" and other two using the name "Orkhon Inscriptions". (These sources seem to count Tonyukuk Inscriptions among the grouping of Orkhon inscriptions similar to how Turkish Wikipedia handles it, while the English wikipedia only lists two monuments under the Orkhon article as opposed to three. Perhaps a change is in order there too.) Should the title be changed or am I wrong in some way? Ataalik (talk) 11:36, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tonyukuk inscriptions are not part of the Orkhon (i.e. Bilge Qaghan and Kultegin) because Tonyukuk inscription lays 360km east to Orkhon. Beshogur (talk) 10:20, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for grouping under Orkhon in Turkish sources seems to be their temporal proximity instead of georaphical and from the fact that the "Old Turkic Script" is more often called "Orkhon Script" in Turkish Sources and the three monuments are the main source for the script. Having this one as separate might be the norm and the correct way to do it. I do not know. But my question about the title of this article stands i.e. "Tonyukuk vs Bain Tsokto" Ataalik (talk) 11:36, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bain Tsokto inscriptions → Tonyukuk inscriptions – This inscription was erected by Tonyukuk. The name Bain Tsokto is the place where it lays. As you can see here, you get very few among books, however Tonyukuk inscriptions have more results. So WP:COMMONNAME. Also I am planning to improve this article, lot of sources seems to be dead.
