Torii family vs. Torii clan[edit]

Is there a particular reason that this article was named "Torii family" instead of the more often used "** clan"? This is the first time I've noticed an article's title on Wikipedia translate ○○氏 as "family" instead of "clan". -- purplepumpkins (talk) 10:55, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
