Outbreak Sequence - Incorrect

The title should be reverted to Tornado Outbreak, as an outbreak sequence is an extended period of nearly nonstop tornadic activity over a longer period of time, not two days. Examples of a sequence would be May 2003 and May 2019. Someone with more skill in editing Wikipedia articles should change this. TwistyBoi (talk) 03:27, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

Indiana EF3+

Ive seen plenty of EF4 damage pictures. The damage to the Taco Bell looks like low end EF4. The NWS is investigating it further. I'll pay attention to the Damage Assessment Toolkit if anything changes. Jesus is the only way to eternal life (talk) 15:20, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Enhanced Fujita Scale damage indicators ares extremely precise and nitpicky. 30 years ago someone would have rated both the Wapakoneta and Winchester tornadoes F4 without batting an eye. But I do think there is a good chance this one gets upgraded. We'll see if that happens. Mjeims (talk) 15:22, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Should the Lakeview EF3 have it's own article?

I'm not going to go through the hassle of creating the article if it's not even necessary, but here are some of my points as to why.

1. It was a very destructive tornado which killed 3 and caused a mass-casualty event
2. It is notable, as many national/international newsgroups have reported on it
3. It was very uncalled for, and was very long-tracked
4. There is a lot more info that could be put into a separate page, not everything in this article is covered

I don't think there's anything about it that deserves its own article; the damage was severe but not exceptional. Even violent tornadoes do not usually get their own article unless they are particularly newsworthy (see Rolling Fork, Western Kentucky, etc.) If this article doesn't cover enough, then you should add it here, as long as it's not just trivia. User:MemeGod27 has edited tornado related blurbs into absurdly large paragraphs, and needlessly mentions things like Ryan Hall and Twitter tornado ratings. They write poorly and not well organized, and not at all encyclopedic in tone. HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 03:05, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

I would not agree with giving it an article since it can already be comfortably included in with the outbreak article. I think it would be an unnecessary content fork to have pages for both this outbreak and the Lakeview tornado. TornadoLGS (talk) 21:44, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Hey Hawkeye7, I don’t wish to be rude since this is your FA candidate nomination, but the article will change in the near future. All tornado damage surveys take 3 months before they are finalized. NOAA releases that finalized information 3-months later, meaning these will have updates (most likely every tornado here) in June this year. Again, I am not trying to be rude here at all, but being blunt, this is not even close to meeting FA criteria, let alone even GA criteria since both FA and GA criteria require the article to not change much day to day. While it may look like it doesn’t change day-to-day, the information here is not finalized and is marked fully as preliminary.

My honest opinion: You may wish to withdraw your FAC and try again in a couple of months, once the finalized damage surveys from NOAA release. The finalized reports will be posted on this NOAA website when they release, but it takes 3-months for release (with December 2023 being the latest set of released finalized damage surveys). That said, this is your FAC and you are free to continue it if you wish. If you do, then for the FAC review, please note that the article will almost certainly change from its current version come the middle of June 2024. Cheers!
