Extent of present day Tottenham[edit]

It's interesting that it's not unusual for people to still think of Tottenham in terms of its historical borough boundaries. However, since this article is describing a district of present-day Haringey at the same level as Northumberland Park, Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, Tottenham Hale, West Green, I would argue that the article needs to clarify the geography of the old borough vs. what might today be considered as the district of Tottenham. Currently the description of its boundaries includes the areas just previously listed. For my money, for the purposes of this article, these are distinct districts in their own right and ought not to be included in the present day boundaries of Tottenham. Any thoughts? hjuk (talk) 06:24, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Demography[edit]

113 ethnic groups and 193 diffrent langagues (read the study), not 300... The University College London study talk about "most ethnically diverse in Britain" and not of Western Europe (TIME delirium). 85.170.16.25 (talk) 16:58, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is this correct[edit]

Tottenham has a multicultural population, with many ethnic groups inhabiting the area. It contains one of the largest and most significant populations of African-Caribbean people. These were among the earliest immigrant groups to settle in the area, starting the UK's Windrush era soon after West African communities - notably the many Ghanaians - begun to migrate into the area.

Just wondering if it should have an extra full stop so:

No source to confirm which is correct, but this sounds more likely.Jandrews23jandrews23 (talk) 08:04, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, it needs a fullstop have added one. Tmol42 (talk) 08:42, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not from London and won't add anything without a reference. There may be a few useful ones in the 2011 London riots
I note the MV Empire Windrush doesn't reference Tottenham but may have useful material. JRPG (talk) 11:06, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Tottenham[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tottenham's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:39, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback[edit]

This is the most viewed London district article (probably because of the 2011 riots). Should be a high priority for some improvement. I've turned feedback on (again). MRSC (talk) 20:44, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Church[edit]

It was announced on the news tonight (November 21 2017) that a new church will be opening in Tottenham, a church that will be both a church and a community centre. This could go in the article to up-date the article. Vorbee (talk) 18:28, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming you mean St Francis in the Engine Room, that's (a) in Tottenham Hale, not Tottenham; (b) not really a "new church" in the traditional steeple-and-organ sense but just a big room in a student housing block and (c) has already been open for years and all that happened today was a formal ceremony. ‑ Iridescent 23:42, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
