  • I'll have a look soon. At first glance, it seems a shame none of the photos used show the tail. How about swapping this[1] photo of an individual eating fruit with the one currently used that shows an individual eating berries, which is badly obscured by branches (and even has an annoying watermark)?
  • I liked it cause it was obviously in habitat, but have changed.
If it wans't for the watermark across the bird, I would be on the fence about it. FunkMonk (talk) 15:22, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Caption for the sound recording?
  • Actually just moved the call out of the taxobox.
  • Include subspecies in taxobox?
  • It seems odd that you don't state the species name until the very last sentence under taxonomy. Would be best to state it, and its etymology, in the first paragraph about this naming.
  • I move the specific name explanation up
  • Might be good for context if dates can be given for the subsequent phylogenetic studies.
  • Done
  • "would be the toucan family." Give scientific name.
  • Done
  • Present Gyldenstolpe as you do other people mentioned.
  • Done
  • "and its sister species the prong-billed barbet" link, and perhaps give scientific name.
  • Done
  • "placed the two species in the new genus Semnornis" What does it mean?
  • Reworded
  • May be good to state in image captions where photos were taken, as it may indicate which subspecies are shown.
  • Done where given on image page
  • "and do not develop prongs until" You don't mention prongs until this point, what does it refer to?
This and below clarified
  • The beak seems to be unusual at the front (prongs?), this could be described.
  • What does thee common name refer to?
  • I don't actually have a source for this. Obviously given the specific epithet we know what iit is, will that suffice?
  • "4.0 and 10.6 ha, with an average of 5.8 ha" Convert as you do with other measurements.
  • sure why not
  • "It is a territorial bird", "The species is territorial", and "Toucan barbet groups show a marked territorial behavior", I don't think you need to state this three times, the first time is without much context at least.
  • reworded hopefully
  • Helper should be linked at first mention.
  • Moved
  • For some species it has been suggested that helpers are excess birds due to skewed sex ratios. Have any explanations been suggested here?
  • No info on this in the paper
  • How do the eggs look like
  • I'll have to see if I can find this
Forgot this one, should be dealt with before potential FAC. FunkMonk (talk) 19:43, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not certain I'm taking this one all the way. Sabine's Sunbird talk 21:35, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
They are apparently as yet undescribed. Source. Sabine's Sunbird talk 22:32, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • "competes with plate-billed mountain toucans" Link in article body and caption.
  • Done
  • The external link description could say it is a collection of recordings.
  • Done
  • The intro should contain a plumage description (it should work as a summary of the entire article).
