Towering[edit]

What the heck does Towers of Hanoi have to do with Tower Of Babel, except for the name? Why don't we add "The Two Towers" and the Tower Bridge while we're at it? JIP | Talk 09:54, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Namco game?[edit]

Is there an English Wikipedia entry for the Namco game of the same name (ja:バベルの塔 (ゲーム))? -- Myria (talk) 06:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At this time, there does not appear to be one, but feel free to check out the guide created at StrategyWiki: Babel no Tou. Plotor (talk) 01:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hundreds of levels[edit]

This was lately edited to the article: [1]

I was the one who originally wrote "over literally hundreds". I take specific care not to misuse the word "literally" to mean its exact opposite, instead if I write "literally", then it's true. The game itself offers about 126 or 137 towers (I don't remember the exact number any more, it's been well over a decade since I played it), and the included construction kit allows the player to construct much more. The option of whether to place a floor tile somewhere alone offers different possible towers, all of which can be constructed. Putting objects on the floor tiles raises this number greatly. I understand the original phrase "over literally hundreds" might sound like exaggerating, but replacing it with "several" makes it sound like there's only a couple of different towers available, which is a vast understatement. According to Mario Latzig's remake (www.tower-of-babel.info) which seems to have all the levels, there are 117 in the game, if that helps any. 79.68.110.62 (talk) 21:07, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are 117 official towers in the game, but there is nothing stopping the player from creating hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands more. I myself must have created almost three hundred. JIP | Talk 21:48, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remakes[edit]

The article says there are currently two remakes under development, but I'm not sure how best to reword it.

Of the two remakes, the one at www.tower-of-babel.info is listed by its author as not under current development, though an incomplete build is available for Windows only. The site is still active, just that development is not due to personal issues and lack of time.

Meanwhile, the remake/sequel originally at www.tob2.com is defunct; the site is no longer available except through the Internet Archive, and even that's incomplete.

I'm not sure whether it would be better to simply remove the tob2 reference and just leave the other as a 'it's still available' note or to even remove them entirely. I, sadly, am not the type for WP:BOLD.
