US

[edit]

WHEN WILL TOYOTA ALLOW OR BEGIN SALE OF THESE EXCEPTIONAL VEHICLES IN THE USA? I WOULD LIKE TO BE THE OWNER/DRIVER OF ONE OF THESE CARS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I AM POSITIVE THAT THIS IS THE CAR THAT AMERICANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR. PLEASE START SELLING THEM TO US.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.47.195.145 (talkcontribs) 00:35, 28 July 2008

According to this article, the iQ is not bound for the US. If I find out otherwise, I will make sure the information gets added to the article here.~ Dusk Knight 03:17, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
These vehicles are now being sold in the U.S. You can see them from time to time. They are similar in appearance to the Smart Fortwo. 50.131.208.212 (talk) 02:07, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article already says it is being sold in the US as the Scion iQ since Oct 2011. The comment you are responding to is from 2008.  Stepho  talk  07:49, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Toyota UK

[edit]

The website only seems to be offering me the 1.0 Petrol engine (With both boxes) Does anyone know for certain if this is the only one being offered in the UK?(86.31.177.192 (talk) 22:59, 8 December 2008 (UTC))[reply]

The 1.3 will be launched spring/mid 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.144.233.244 (talk) 14:21, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

European Engine Capacity?

[edit]

This article list the cc of the European car to be 997cc (as opposed to 998cc for the AYGO) - this is not so. UK V5 documents (mine!) and the vehicle documentation state 998cc for the production iQ offered in the UK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.44.68.71 (talk) 21:00, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do they actually sell it?

[edit]

Here in Russia Toyota prices the IQ a notch above the base Avensis (also above Ford Mondeo but below VW Passat) - apparently there's no intention to sell it. Are there reliable sales numbers worldwide - is it a real car or a marketing scam? NVO (talk) 13:08, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen quite a few in the United Kingdom, however not as many as the Toyota Aygo. It would seem unlikely to be a marketing ploy as by Japanese or European standards it is not exceptional in anyway as a city car. They are quite expensive though, not as dear as a Volkswagen Passat but dearer than a lot of similar cars. For my money I would have a Citroen C1. Mtaylor848 (talk) 16:28, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fuel Efficiency

[edit]

Having looked at Yahoo! Cars, Cars.com, and the EPA, the listed fuel efficiency on all three websites is 36 city/37 highway. This is wildly divergent from the claim that it gets 54.XX (Scion) and 58.9 (Aston Martin) mpg. Additionally, the citations (#5 and #40) are both claims from the manufacturer -- hardly an unbiased source. No doubt the 54/58 claims are based on absolute optimal driving efficiency, rather than standard averages. Shouldn't we use a much more realistic standard from the EPA and general public, rather than Toyota's claim? Bonkalicious (talk) 16:47, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aston Martin Cygnet

[edit]

How come the Aston Martin Cygnet has been removed from the article? It was well sourced and informative, and currently the Aston Martin Cygnet redirects here and there is no information anymore. 66.170.42.153 (talk) 04:20, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was deleted a few days ago by a guy saying (in Spanish) that he was going to create its own page. But it was only a few months ago that it was merged into this page. I have restored the section.  Stepho  talk  05:00, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect top speed values

[edit]

In the top speed section, the wrong values are posted. The posted values are that of a 2014 Mini Cooper, as seen in the cited source. Narreths (talk) 17:01, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Please remove the 209 km/h / 130 mph figures. The 171 km/h figure closely matches the 170 km/h figure at https://www.drive.com.au/reviews/toyota-iq-review/  Stepho  talk  19:47, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
