Company name, trading name[edit]

According to [the company website] they are "veiolia transport". Veolia New South Wales or Veolia NSW is not mentioned nor is that what is shown on the livery either of their buses nor their coaches.

There is no entity trading as Veiolia NSW.

I think this page should be merged with Veolia transport. In other territories they trade with different names locally. This is not the case in Sydney.

The alternative would be a move to something along the lines of Veolia transport (Sydney). Garrie 23:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it is quite clear from the text of the article that the company is a longstanding local bus company which happens to be currently owned by Veolia, and therefore deserves its own page, just as many of the other entities are that are currently owned by Veolia have separate pages. The example of Ford and McDonalds don't seen to equate as these are homogenous companies that operate in different companies, rather than separate companies with their own own lacal histories and operating patterns that have been bought out by a global operator. I would be keen to hear the opinions of others before agreeing to any moves or mergers. Quaidy 05:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article has come a bit of a circle. With the current name it is silly not to have at least minor descriptions of the monorail and light rail activities. But then the bus section should be given about the same coverage, so we are back in a situation of needing a seperate article to cover Veolia Transport NSW bus operations. That isn't an article name that leaps from fingertips to the screen though... I agree fully that the organisations connex bought which are now Veolia Transport are worth a distinct article (and some of the historic organisations may indeed be worth their own articles). Once that article is created the bus content could be moved there and a summary left on this article in similar manner to the other operations. This is entirely the type of organisation that could easily lose it's tender on the metro light rail, or the monorail, or decide to divest itself of bus transport - or take up heavy rail as it has in other juristrictions - so this article needs to be flexible, modular and adaptable.Garrie 04:39, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Veoila Transport Logo.PNG[edit]

Image:Veoila Transport Logo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Status after loss of route service contracts[edit]

There has been some dispute as to whether Transdev NSW continues to operate as a charter operator after losing its route service contracts. This statement, despite the appalling grammar, on its website is pretty clear that it is not continuing as a charter only operator: We're no longer accepted (sic) Charter Bus Hires for our Transdev NSW business Rebloxk (talk) 05:02, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When I checked the Transdev NSW website earlier this week, it was not updated so I wasn't sure. But now that the website has been updated and confirms it, I have added it as a citation to the main page. @Rebloxk: Next time, please add the citation instead of complaining on the talk page without adding the citations on the main page. All you did is to change the tense of the main article without proper citation backup to prove the tense change is justified. Marcnut1996 (talk) 07:18, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Marcnut1996:, did I complain, don't think so? I just pointed out the facts. Perhaps if you had taken some of your own advice and not just made something up, given it was you who added the text Transdev would remain as a charter operator without a citation, we wouldn't have needed to have had this discussion in the first place.
