I own a copy of this game for IBM-PC Compatibles. Does anyone have information about when this was ported?

Story
The history of Trantor is not widely known as a short backstory was only included in the manual for the Amstrad version of the game. The manual explains that Trantor served as a stormtrooper on the front lines of an interstellar war. During this war, Trantor mistakenly killed an infant with his flamethrower. The game's action takes place in Trantor's troubled mind, as he fights through a fictional base while attempting to collect remnants of his soul. Enemies represent varying aspects of his psychosis and the player's eventual death dooms Trantor to a life of despondency.

Sounds like a hoax to me. "Only included in the manual for the Amstrad version of the game"? That's convenient (cough!). FWIW, I looked up the Amstrad instructions, found some here with no sign of it.

Citation please, but I suspect we all know it's nonsense...

To be fair it has been known for the back-story to be changed when games are re-released, and it's conceivable that someone doing the copy for one release decided to add that story - or that it was included only in one early manual. However, calling it "not widely known" is a bit suspicious - how many versions had that anonymous editor seen? Pastychomper (talk) 13:07, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
