There is something interesting about the multitude of treason laws in the US. The article needs:

  • reliable sources explaining reasons for any differences between the various laws (state and federal);
  • citations for the various state penalties;
  • further detail about the many state laws and the federal laws;
  • further coverage of application of the treason laws.

Conflicting information: US Bureau of Justice does not list treason as a capital offense in South Carolina, Mississippi or Washington as of 2009. Jack N. Stock (talk) 15:42, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
