Plant My Phone is closed

[edit]

Removed Plant my Phone because the initiative is closed: http://mokugift.blogspot.jp/ A scam site seems to be taking advantage of the term "Plant My Phone" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.20.170.121 (talk) 06:45, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update needed

[edit]

It appears that this 'United Nations campaign' has ended. Both external links are dead. In the article's current form, the organizational basis of the campaign is not clear. Confusingly, The Nature Conservancy now has its own "Plant a Billion Trees" campaign. Update needed... Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:01, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article should probably be renamed, as it is no longer a United Nations campaign. One alternative would be to split it into two articles, an historical one on the UN campaign, and a second one on the current, ongoing initiative; that may be confusing, however. Other thoughts and suggestions? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:22, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Article renamed; partial revision of lead paragraph also completed. More efforts needed to bring it up to date, and to put historical accomplishments in proper perspective. Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 16:12, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

deleted "Roll of Honour" is superfluous (i.e. "top 10 countries" is sufficient to indicate the contents) & erroneous (see Talk)

[edit]

"list of people whose deeds or achievements are honoured, or who have died in battle" (source: Oxford https://www.lexico.com/)

erroneous: "people"

"a list of people who are officially praised, especially because they were brave in battle" https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/roll-of-honour

"a list of the names of people who are admired or respected for something they have done, such as doing very well in a sport or exam" https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/roll-of-honour
