What is the meaning and significance of the huge list of things that people talk about? It just looks like an obvious list of the things on the islands and doesn't seem to add anything to the article.

The Holidays section says Traditionally, on "Old Year's Day/Night" (meaning "New Year's Eve"), the islanders would conceal their identities with masks or blackface and the men would wear women's clothing; everyone would celebrate anonymously moving between households, singing songs, dancing, shouting, playing instruments and firing guns. At the stroke of midnight, a bell would announce the new year. On New Year's Day, the islanders would play cricket and football, and once again party later in the day. They "would"? Either they did (but don't any more) or they do. Which is it? If it's the former, then what was the time frame? When did it end and, if a reason is clearly discernible, why? The islands are home to over 200 people whom are part of a secular state, I find it very hard to beleive that the population is somehow 100% Christian, especially given the statement is not backed-up by any sources.
