Potato

It's not helpful to compare T laxa to a potato. There's no resemblance, except of course it's a root. You don't have to cook T laxa in order to eat it; in fact it's better raw. Tastes like asparagus or artichoke not potato. It was once called "Indian potato" which may explain the confusion. [1] And sorting with the asparagus family is still in dispute AFAIK.
