Picture of a Herald?[edit]

Newbie here with a question: Why is there a picture of a Triumph Herald on the right-hand side of page? Is it simply a matter of no picture being available? Seems space would be better than misinformation.

This article is misleading in suggesting the TR250 and TR5 are two separate models, one following the other. The TR250 is simply the US version of the TR5, with carbs instead of mechanical fuel injection. The use of carbs was, at least as much as any other reason, due to their greater reliability than the (troublesome) mechanical fuel injection, and Triumph's (well-deserved) lack of confidence in the ability of the US dealer network to maintain the fuel injection system. In some cases, European TR5s were retrofitted with the carbs, the resulting reduced power being an acceptable price for greater reliability. An unfortunate effect of using carbs was that the 2.6L 6-cyl TR250 had no more power than the 2.1L 4-cyl TR4A that preceded it (the TR250 also had to meet stricter emission standards).

The same difference in fuel delivery systems continued with the TR6, for the same reasons, except now the non-US TR6s were known as the TR6PI ("petrol injection").

Probably the TR250 page should just be merged with the TR5 page, with a redirect from TR250 to TR5. Bill67.131.107.98 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 17:12, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
