qualify and provide context.[edit]

It would be helpful if this article points out that any possible association with Rheged could be quite brief - during a shortlived period where that kingdom included parts of modern Dumfries and Galloway. Also, it would help to contextualise this site with that of Dunadd, where one main centre of power was part of an attempt to consolidate and express an overkingship status of neighbouring kindreds, some of which may have been absorbed into Rheged. For example, the poetry about Rheged links the kindred groups of Aeron (Ayrshire) closely with Rheged. Therefore, suggestions that Trusty's Hill was a royal centre linked to Rheged could be clarified to better distinguish between the centre of a heartland within old Rheged, and an attempt at creating a new centre to control multiple kingdoms. One need not replace the other. USe of the published literature on Rheged to date would help flesh this out for a better wiki article. 77.98.226.156 (talk) 21:40, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
