I could swear I heard a version of this song years ago where Bob Seger says it is an old Miracles song, old Miracles song - as in "Smokey Robinson and the...", but I can't find any evidence they ever did the song.

Sounds like Miracles to me as well but I think maybe "Memphis". This is a great song.
