Language not neutral/Factual error
My name is Christine Morrison, I'm a social media marketer at TurboTax.
Upon looking at this page I notice some less-than-neutral language: "In 2003, Intuit faced vocal criticism for its TurboTax activation scheme.[1] The company responded by removing the product activation scheme from its product." We would like to respectfully request the word "scheme" be removed.
Also, this statement is not entirely factual: "In 2008, TurboTax was criticized for adding a new fee of $9.95 to print each additional return after the first, including returns for members of the same household."
The $9.95 fee only applies to desktop customers and includes federal e-filing (not just printing); pricing is structured differently for TurboTax Online. We would like to request that updates be made to reflect these facts. See this page under the "TurboTax CD/Download" tab for the specifics. [1]

- The word 'scheme' is used by the source and, in context, is used in a neutral sense, as in "a way of doing something," not as in "an evil plot." In the business world I do see people, perhaps especially Brits, using 'scheme' without any negative connotations. I have updated the comment on fees to be more accurate, hopefully. - I noticed today's changes to the article, researched and updated it before seeing these talk page comments, but I believe the discussion of 2008 pricing is now accurate. --CliffC (talk) 04:59, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Started as MacInTax
The original product was MacInTax the follow on product was a Windows only version named TurboTax. They couldn't very well call the windows version MacInTax. The two products were later merged under the name TurboTax. I ♥ ♪ ♫(talk) 16:23, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Backwards compatibility between years/versions
A reliable source is still missing, but this appears to be a known problem, with the Transfer functionality not allowing to fully view previously-filed, saved forms. The required older versions depend on older libraries, making archive retrieval problematic... 76.10.128.192 (talk) 05:47, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
