The text does not support the rank of endangered, the species is not on CITES I (see http://www.parrotsinternational.org/CITES_page.htm) and is IUCN listed as least concern (see http://www.iucnredlist.org/apps/redlist/details/142520/0) Merlark (talk) 04:34, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

- Hi, I'll review this article. You might be puzzled by why you didn't have to wait for a month before getting a review, but I've written so many articles about extinct parrots lately that I thought it would be interesting to read something about an extant one... FunkMonk (talk) 13:31, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hmmm, 'insanely grateful' might be a more apt description...but hey Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:07, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- The video doesn't seem relevant under feeding, and doesn't really add much, compared to some of the unused photos, for example. FunkMonk (talk) 13:33, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- Good point - will have a look and shuffle.... Cas Liber (talk · contribs)
- For a start, the article feels a little empty, sure no other images here could be added?[1] FunkMonk (talk) 13:31, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- Any range map? I could make one, if you provide a source. FunkMonk (talk) 13:31, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- The synonyms need dates, and not sure why Bechstein isn't spelled out? FunkMonk (talk) 13:32, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- I just found the type illustration of Psittacus edwardsii among unidentified parrot images from Levaillant's book, perhaps useful under taxonomy? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Levaillant_Parrot_68.jpg FunkMonk (talk) 12:20, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- The article doesn't clarify whether the authors of the synonyms were aware that it had been described already?
- "the species name being the Medieval Latin word azureus "blue"." Needs a source.
- Invalid subspecies should be listed in the taxobox as synonyms as well.
- "The name red-shouldered parakeet was incorrectly applied to this species." What does it apply to then?
- the source doesn't say on that page,
however I will check something else.aaah paradise parrot... Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:46, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- the source doesn't say on that page,
- "Its neck and upperparts are grass-green, and tail is grass-green with yellow borders" Never seen a sentence like this, is it correct English?
- "The throat and chest are pale green and belly is yellow." Same here?
- "and has been recorded as black while nesting." Any explanation why?
- "Juvenile birds of both sexes have less extensive blue faces" Blue on their faces?
- "Their eyes open by day seven, and they are covered with grey down by day seven or eight." Wouldn't this fit better under breeding or behaviour?
- "Previously it had been recorded as far north as the Suttor River and Mackay." When is previously?
- "it vanished from much of its range" Why?
- "That year, many aviary species including several species of Australian parrot and members of the genus Neophema had exhibited neurological symptoms reminiscent of Newcastle disease." Sounds weird it was only that year, what happened since?
- The lead seems a bit short for an article of this length.
- Alright, fixes look good. Only point remaining is whether a clear image if a male should be added? There's a good one of the female, but none of the male. These appear to be our best ones:[5][6][7] FunkMonk (talk) 14:07, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, the sources look solid, I'll go ahead and promote this. The range map could need a full citation on the Commons page, otherwise hard to know what publication "Higgins" refers to. FunkMonk (talk) 20:49, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
Gum trees[edit]
From the lead section, paragraph 2: " It nests in hollows of gum trees." In this context, are gum trees the same as Eucalyptus? Eucalyptus was mentioned earlier in the article. If they are the same, it would be helpful to clarify this. Axl ¤ [Talk] 10:37, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Scapulars[edit]
From "Taxonomy and naming", paragraph 2: "In 1915, Gregory Mathews described a subspecies dombrainii from Victoria on the basis of more prominent red on the scapulars." What is a "scapular"? (I can guess, but this needs to be clarified.) Wikipedia's article is inappropriate. Axl ¤ [Talk] 10:53, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Photo[edit]
The "Description" section does not currently have a photo. How about moving the photo of an adult male in Twycross Zoo from the "Distribution and habitat" section the the "Description" section? Axl ¤ [Talk] 11:00, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Conservation status[edit]
From "Conservation status", paragraph 1: "The species is not listed as threatened on the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999." Should this be: "The species is listed as not threatened."? Axl ¤ [Talk] 11:08, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Young[edit]
In "Behaviour", subsection "Breeding", would it be reasonable to change "young" and "baby birds" to "chicks"? Axl ¤ [Talk] 11:26, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Aviculture[edit]
In "Aviculture": " A quiet species, it likes to bathe in captivity." There is a disconnect between the two parts of the sentence. Axl ¤ [Talk] 11:28, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
