Please explain what was acquired[edit]

After reading the article, I'm unsure if Twitter (the company) has acquired Tweetie (the application) or Atebit (the company behind Tweetie). The article should not be about two separate things. It should not be about a product called Tweetie, from a company called Atebit, and at the same time, about a product called Twitter from a company called Twitter. Looking at the linked website for Tweetie (http://www.atebits.com/tweetie-iphone/), it seems that Atebit still has a product called Tweetie, but on my iPhone, the app called Tweetie was automatically replaced with an app called Twitter, after Twitter's acquisition. --HelgeStenstrom (talk) 11:14, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Should not the whole article be put into past tense? Now it's called Twitter. Tweetie is a thing of the past. 62.203.3.134 (talk) 14:35, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking the exact same thing. | MK17b | (talk) 06:13, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
