Baby Rocket

You know for some reason Rocket kinda has a similar apperance to Thadius. Escpecially since the child has similar features to Thadius when he was young, as well as having red hair. Not only that but it seems Prof.Impossible indicates in the show that he wants a blood test. You never know... unless Jackson says something about it. Possible, but shouldn't be addressed in the article until something definite comes out. Did Venture actually have sex with Sally? I thought he panicked at her disappearing skin and fled in horror, then was left out in the snow shortly afterwards by Richard. - DynSkeet * Talk

THANK YOU. I never for a moment thought it Venture's. And it was never implied that Sally and Venture had sex, and frankly, I'm sure Sally got Richard into the sack at least once even if they had to argue over it. Note that the urine sample was from Sally, BTW; disguised as Venture's in 'Ice Station', it was Sally who was pregnant, not Venture as Richard mistakenly thought. My thoughts on plot summaries

Just to let you know how I'm writing these. I'm trying to hit all the major plot points without doing a scene-by-scene recap or giving away all the jokes. To my understanding, Wikipedia is opposed to full recaps, and I personally agree. Wikipedia also doesn't seem too keen on summaries even as detailed as we have been making them, prefering a one or two paragraph nutshell. However, later editors will come in to add their own touches, inevitably adding more information. I would suggest though that the place to list all the pop culture references is under Trivia, rather than the body of the summary. Long after the episode has aired, I believe future readers will value a more general overview rather than a point-by-point analysis. --Boradis 04:33, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

I can understand why you removed some of my edits as not being 'trivia' and instead being speculation and analysis. However, why didn't they therefore go into a section called "speculation and analysis?" Is there some wikirule against such things in episode summaries?--Eric Burns 08:31, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

In general, speculation and analysis are considered original research. Just as a printed encyclopedia shouldn't contain analysis or guesswork, neither should these articles. Less time between this episode and Ice Station Impossible may have passed than we think, Rocket, being a super baby and all, may have some form of accelerated aging. Since other characters, Trianna for example, show no signs of any real aging (let alone nearly two years), this might be the case.--Jackelbeaver 10:46, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Unanswered questions

Many episodes deliberately leave some plot threads dangling, a case in point would be "Escape to the House of Mummies Part II." While it's done for laughs and I have no expectations that the creators will explain many of the bizarre side events in these stories, it might make for a new catetory on the summary pages. In this episode we are left to wonder:

• How did Col. Gentleman die?
• What's the captain's name?
• What the heck happened to Jonny Quest?
• Where were the aliens from?
• Is Rocket really Prof. Impossible's son?

Meh, I dunno if such a section'll work. We do get answers to the bigger questions, and some of the jokes are based on these being total left-field moments. It's an interesting section addition, to be sure...but I dunno if it's needed.

Overzealous Reversions

Okay, I'm generally pretty cool about things being reverted. But:

*The girl Jonas Venture, Jr. is canoodling with as Rusty breaks into the room is apparently the same girl Brock slept with in Assassinanny 911 -- or at least she is from a similar part of the country, having a similar appearance and voice and speaking the same sort of language.

was added to the trivia section. It was then reverted out with the explanation "Since this item itself isn't even sure that it's right and that she's the same girl, let's leave it out." I don't think that was appropriate, since if it's not the same girl, it's still clearly a call back to the earlier episode. She had a similar appearance, voice, and color of clothing, and spoke in a similar language. That's obviously and clearly trivia, and certainly belongs in the description. My crappy computer doesn't have Photoshop or MSPaint to grab a screenshot of the episode off the Fix, but there is a very clear closeup on the Ibezan woman right after the captain explains his new job. Jackson Publick said over in his live journal that they are two different women. One from France one from Spain.

I'll go shorter next time I write one. The thing is, the last two that I first wrote were much, much shorter, but grew to considerable length after I stopped. I think that's going to be a major struggle in the VB articles... everyone has a different idea of the ideal size for articles, and will always be lengthening or shortening them. I've gone back and forth on the issue myself. - DynSkeet * Talk 13:27, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Gun reference

The weapon wielded by Jonny Quest isn't a Wildey Magnum at all, but really a Luger, or atleast heavilly based on one. This is easilly seen if one compares the two real-life weapons. Note the lack of rib atop the barrel and the visible toggle-mechanism at the back(the two circular protrusions). So someone might want to change that. 82.174.227.7 05:47, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

VOR?

Another likely reference: the scenario strongly resembles the James Blish novel VOR, which is about the earth being judged by an alien robot, whose name derives from the three-colour beam - violet/orange/red - it uses to communicate. 81.132.97.165 23:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
