Expanded text removed from article[edit]

Upon further reflection, the large amount of new text added recently (July 2010) makes the article practically unreadable and can't easily be cleaned up. As a result, I've concluded that the article is better off as little more than a stub. I've copied the added text below if any brave soul wants to try to salvage it, but it's beyond my level of patience. Majorclanger (talk) 01:17, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two Moons (Cheyenne: Éše'heo'ôhnéšese; also known as Mâsêhávoo'xénéhe, Crazy Roman Nose)[1] And also known as ISHI EYO NISHI 1842-1917 was a chief of the Cheyenne Native American tribe.was born in western wyoming in 1842. his father was Carries the Otter He was one of the 27 minor chiefs in the Cheyenne tribe. Two Moons was from the Kitfox Society .one of his very first battles with the white man was when his father was killed in 1857 it would be known as the Solomon River Fight. he missed Red Clouds War. And the fetterman battle, but his uncle Two Moons The Elder who had the same name fought in his place.but he did get to participate in the Great Sioux War of 1876-1877. he participated in the reynolds fight, where he and Wooden Leg and Bear Walks on a Ridge killed and stripped a soldier during the battle. he also got to fight in the battle of the rosebud, during the battle in later years when he told his stories he said the battle of the rosebud was a good fight much smoke and dust he said. then He participated in the Battle of the Little Bighorn were he made several advances on Company E, trying to scatter the horses. In his biography stories, he said," I tried and tried but I could not break up the company with the grey horses." He killed and scalped a couple of soldiers at the battle of the Little Bighorn and took their clothes and ammunition. after the battle was over they burned the ground to make a smokescreen becuase the terry and gibbon column were advancing. Two Moons said i called my people together, and we hurried into rotten grass valley he said that we camped for three days then went back to our old trail east. Two Moons does mentions a quote that Wooden Leg talks about. He talks about their being whiskey on the soldiers during the battle and he also gave infromation about after the battle the warriors dragged a couple of bodies into the camp and dismembered and burned the bodies in the big campfire when they had a big dance, This idea of the battle was disputed for many years until he shed some new light on it. After the battle he and his band fought it out with the U.S. Army until January of 1877 were he fought his last battle with the whites it was the battle of Wolf Mountain, he then surrendered at Fort Keogh. He was one of three models for the Indian Head nickel. he also over the years has been interviewed seven different times trying to explain the story of his life and about the Battle of The Little Bighorn his famous saying about the battle of the little bighorn is is The whole valley was filled with smoke We circled around them swirling like water around a stone. He also attended the 40th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1916 where he made a speech he said," 40 years ago we wiped custer off the face of this earth, but now where all freinds under the same flag." He would die a year later in 1917 ,after suffering almost twenty years of blindness. His relatives today live on the northern cheyenne reservation at Lame Deer Montana.

It's Two MOON[edit]

Actually, the proper translation is "Two Moon" (no 's'), referring to the second moon of the year, when he was born. The difference is NOT trivial. It was a common error even at the time, though. CFLeon (talk) 19:56, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
