Origin of the Name

[edit]

I have read another theory of the origin of the name, that Tyne Cot was derived from 't hennekot or hinnekot, the West Flemish word for henhouse. Does anyone else also know about this theory? —Preceding unsigned comment added by WDeavenettel (talkcontribs) 08:50, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Grid Reference

[edit]

The coordinates given in this article are 50°51′12.1″N, 02°52′39.1″E. These appear to be incorrect. They mark a point in the center of Ieper. According to the page, the cemetery is near Passendale. According to the CWGC page the cemetery is "9 kilometres north east of Ieper town centre, on the Tynecotstraat", near Zonebeke.
If somebody has some a more accurate grid reference, please correct it. --David Edgar 17:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to have been corrected. Carcharoth 20:44, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Noteable Graves'

[edit]

Are there some graves out there that aren't noteworthy or something? This paragraph heading should be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.102.69.105 (talk) 21:20, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
