False title disagreement[edit]

Hi Caro7200, you have reverted my revert (this constitutes edit warring, btw) and subsequently encouraged me not to edit war. Do you not see the irony in this?! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:21, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello--yes, and you have also edit warred. How would you like to proceed? Caro7200 (talk) 15:22, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have absolutely not edit warred. I reverted your edit. That is not edit warring. Reverting a revert is edit warring. Do you not agree with this distinction? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:43, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You changed something, I changed it, you changed it, I changed it--there have been four changes. Revirvlkodlaku, as you may have noted, this was one of the first articles I wrote when I returned to editing, and I appreciate your edits to it, of which I changed only one. According to your page, you are Czech, so I am happy to defer to you on this. But let's agree that this is simply a stylistic preference; neither is grammatically incorrect, and thousands (tens of thousands?) of articles use a "the" (Beatles albums, for one). Have a good day. Ever seen them? I saw the band on their 2000 tour--still have the shirt... ;) Caro7200 (talk) 15:58, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Caro7200, thanks for your willingness to compromise. I do think you need to brush your understanding of edit warring (see WP:Edit warring), as you are not defining it correctly. To reiterate, making an edit to a page is not edit warring; reverting another person's edit is not edit warring; reverting a revert, however is edit warring—in fact, that is the first step in an edit war. I'm merely laying this out for your information, not because I want to keep arguing.
I did not know this was one of your first articles, though I did note that you created it. Thank you for doing that.
I am half-Czech, but this has no bearing on the topic we are discussing, as we are debating a topic of English grammar, not Czech. It is absolutely a stylistic difference, although according to a prescriptivist view, your position is correct ;)
I have never seen Už jsme doma. In fact, I had never heard of the band until I began editing their page. One of the things I do on Wikipedia is edit, expand, and translate articles on Czech topics, especially related to music :) Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 16:38, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
