Not until you 1) document it; 2) copyedit it for grammar, and to give it encyclopedic style and language; 3) make it sound less like an ad. --Orange Mike 13:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

First Bank System

Found a dead link to First Bank System. Perhaps this should be a redirect to this article. 71.134.227.98 (talk) 06:12, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Namesakes

I'm not sure about this section. Wouldn't something like "U.S. Bancorp Buildings" be a better heading? Raynethackery (talk) 04:27, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Title of Article

Shouldn't this article be called "US Bank"? Other banks have articles named after the bank itself, not the holding company. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bud08 (talkcontribs) 22:51, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Merger

I suggest that Firstar Corporation be merged into U.S. Bancorp. Firstar purchased U.S. Bank, and then changed its name to that of its acquiree. Two articles seem unnecessary. User:Gimme danger suggested this move back in May 2007, but no discussion took place. --BaronLarf 04:32, 19 March 2010 (UTC)76.188.28.28 (talk) 00:40, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. The two pages should be merged as Firstar merged with USBank and accepted the USBancorp name at that time 76.188.28.28 (talk) !

Very bad idea, increases rather than reduces confusion. If Firstar had not changed its name there would be no question of merging the two articles into the one the relates in the first instance to the acquiree. The suggestion is old, and I will now remove it. Postlebury (talk) 02:09, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Asset numbers

http://www2.fdic.gov/idasp/main_bankfind.asp: click More Search Options, under Size or Performance choose Total Deposits and under Equal or Greater than enter $100,000,000,000. (It's necessary to perform the search manually on each occasion due to the website's configuration).

Shouldn't this be right link for any asset size. The crrent number is higher then what the FDIC lists it. 305 compared to 311. Other banks wiki's use this official source for size numbers. Shouldn't the us bank one use it as well?Strunke (talk) 20:57, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Footprint Update

Updated the map for U.S. Bank's retail footprint to include recently integrated branches in New Mexico, from acquisition of the failed First Community Bank of New Mexico. Also revised Texas, as U.S. Bank sold off the FBOP branches there sometime ago, after that acquisition. JMXN (talk) 06:57, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
