Recent History and Acquisitions

U.S. HealthWorks offers occupational health care and urgent care services, preventive care, pre-employment and post-offer exams and screening, and return-to-work rehabilitative care.(Robertson, 2012)

As of July 2014, U.S. HealthWorks had 218 worksites in 19 states and more than 3,300 employees. (U.S. HealthWorks, 2014)

Dignity Health acquired U.S. HealthWorks in 2012 with plans to expand U.S. HealthWorks operations nationally. Financial terms were not disclosed. (Robertson, 2012)

U.S. HealthWorks operates as a wholly owned, for-profit subsidiary of Dignity Health. (Roney, 2012)

Since its acquisition by Dignity Health, U.S. HealthWorks has acquired dozens of occupational health and urgent care centers across the U.S.

Major acquisitions include: • In February 2011, U.S. HealthWorks acquired two medical centers in south Florida: Medwork 84 in Ft. Lauderdale and Medstar in Pompano Beach. (Reuters, 2011)

• In July 2011, U.S. HealthWorks expanded its presence to Minnesota with the acquisition of three NorthWorks Occupational Health Centers. The centers are located in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region.(Stych, 2011)

• In October 2011, U.S. HealthWorks acquired four Nashville-based medical centers and seven worksite locations operated by Tennessee Urgent Care Associates. (Nashville Business Journal, 2011)

• In January 2013, U.S. HealthWorks acquired the three Advanced Occupational Medicine Specialists (AOMS) healthcare centers in the Chicago region, establishing its initial roots in Illinois. (Robertson, 2013)

• In June 2013, U.S. began a partnership with Indiana University Health in which the two organizations would collaborate in providing occupational health services to Indiana employers. The agreement gives U.S. HealthWorks the assets of eight free standing IU Health clinics in the Indianapolis area. (MarketWatch, 2013)

• Also in June 2013, U.S. HealthWorks acquired the assets of seven OHS-Compcare clinics and two worksites in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The centers were the first for U.S. HealthWorks in both Kansas and Missouri.(KC Metro, 2011)

• In June 2014, U.S. HealthWorks acquired the California Occupational Clinic in downtown Los Angeles. The new Los Angeles location gives U.S. HealthWorks 70 centers and worksites in California. (Santa Clarita Valley Signal, 2014)

 –In March 2014, U.S. HealthWorks acquired two centers in the Lucas County area of Ohio from Occupational Care Consultants and Therapy Works.  (U.S. HealthWorks, 2014)
 –In June 2014, U.S. HealthWorks acquired one center in Charlotte, NC from Industricare. (U.S. HealthWorks, 2014)
 –In December 2014, U.S. HealthWorks acquired three centers in the Orange County area of California from Tustin Irvine Medical Group.
 –In December 2014, U.S. HealthWorks acquired one center in Columbus, GA from Acute Care Express. (U.S. HealthWorks, 2014)
