Merge

All of the Fenton-Clio Expressway is designated as US 23, and it seems unnecessary to have two articles on a single roadway. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 02:41, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I've merged it, but this article still needs attention. The route description is written backward and the exit list is sub-par. —Scott5114 08:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Exit list is now cleaned up. Imzadi1979 (talk) 20:56, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Ideas for future improvements

  1. The Michigan Highways sources need to be removed and replaced with other sources. Unfortunately, the site is a WP:SPS. I have an archive of old state maps that can be used to source parts of the history.
  2. The map sources could be combined so that all sections are mentioned in one footnote. Maybe we do something like the books sources in other articles?
  3. We need to add a source for the mile posting (either GIS or Control Section atlas).
  4. There's more information that can be added related to the formation of the US Highway system, as well as what trunklines US 23 replaced. When it was formed, it didn't follow its exact current route between Cheboygan and Alpena. I'm left with the impression that it was a new highway through that area, when I know it wasn't.
  5. There's a lot more that can be written about the route description. Ideally, I'd triple it.
  6. The proposed extension section could just be renamed to "Future"

Ok, the stuff above was done already, since I got it done for the GAN. Now some ideas in advance of an ACR are:
  1. Double check if there are any historical bridges
  2. Add the memorial highway designations
  3. Update the MPs and length to 3DPs
  4. Double check the references for consistency.
  5. Add information on future heritage route promotion on Cheboygan Tribune, see if any map citations in the history can be replaced.
