Slovakia debut?[edit]

It's strange that the Czech Republic has the Czechoslovakia era as their own whilst Slovakia is not included in the history of Czechoslovakia. Where there no Slovak players in the teams that competed under the name Czechoslovakia?

For some reason, and don't ask why because it's never been officially revealed, UEFA and FIFA consider the Czech Republic to be the sole successor to the history of the Czechoslovakia team. Unfortunately, that means that although we know that Czechoslovakia was made up of two equal nations, we can only actually report one nation as having competed in the European Championship before, whereas Slovakia technically made its debut this year. – PeeJay 08:52, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The place containing the national capital seems to inherit the record, as in the case of Yugoslavia/Serbia and USSR/Russia. I guess FIFA give breakaway countries like Bosnia and Ukraine a "clean break" to avoid legitimising a controversial government over them. But as is known, the split of Czechoslovakia was nowhere near as bitter. '''tAD''' (talk) 18:15, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pitch Quality[edit]

I added the following lines to the section on pitch quality because it explains the situation better

This was the second time that a Euro championship pitch needed to be re-laid mid-tournament. The first time was the St. Jakob-Park in Basel during Euro 2008.[1][2]
The Austrian manufacture of the turf ‘Richter’ responded to the French grass association officials by saying “the turf for the stadiums in Lille and Marseille was delivered in top condition" and that “the turf placement and further care were handled by French companies and no one other than the French grounds-people had control over the grounds condition”.[3][4]
