Can we get a cost estimate for USAF-96? Cost is one of its apparent selling points (and Eglin's), so it would be helpful to have some detail and context there. BlueSingularity (talk) 23:35, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Me too. Conventional steel, very similar stuff by chemistry, costs about US$ 600/tonne (2020) in the largest quantity, before fabrication. Also, most manufactured items cost (not sell-for) about US$ 20/kilo. It looks to me like the weird thing about this material is that it might make sense to do the precipitation heat treat after fabrication. I have no idea about the resulting costs, however.
