Untitled[edit]

Regarding the request for a new templated infobox: I think it would be nice to have used a pre-made ship info template, it would have saved me a lot of time, but I found it very difficult to clearly organize the information using the recommended template which was present when I started editing the page. To solve that problem I attempted to recreate the ship info box used by the Iowa battleship page which is class-b rated. If someone feels they can use the existing templates for the ship info boxes to present the information in a clear manner then I recommend they do so as soon as possible since uniformity in presentation is definetly a benefit for people trying to find information quickly. Last Days of the Westwind[edit]

My name is Keith Taylor and I spent time on the Westwind after it came back from the Antartic in the 80's, in fact I was the last person taken off of the Westwind while it was being docked in Mobile, Alabama approx. 1984-85. It was indeed sold for scrap. Many times on the ship we were told not to work on anything because they did not have the money for any repairs. The boat never left the dock in the one year I was aboard, we were housed in hotel in downtown Mobile for a bit because of the living conditions onboard. There are some amazing pictures out there somewhere of the collision with the Larson Ice shell which finally brought her to the scrap yard and great stories from those who were on board at the time of the incident. Fixing Shipinfo box[edit]

In the shipinfo box there are links which I believe have caused the Shipinfo boxes to not display properly. I deduced this through an edit of the material in Sandbox. Orphaned references in USCGC Westwind (WAGB-281)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of USCGC Westwind (WAGB-281)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

W281 Repairs 1977-78[edit]
