correction regarding a fact on the rescue of the Flying Enterprise.[edit]

Regarding....The highlight of these runs occurred while en route to Bremerhaven in January 1952, she rescued survivors from the stricken merchantman SS Flying Enterprise.

As a matter of fact, the General Greely was on route to New York in January 1952 having left Bremerhaven. I know this because I was a passenger on the ship and was told by my father that they had rescued all but one person from the Flying Enterprise.98.216.41.59 (talk) 01:49, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The above is absolutely correct as my family and I were on the ship having left Bremerhaven 12/23/1951 and arrived in NY the night of 1/9/1952. I recall this rescue and it was often discussed in later years. It prolonged our rough journey. I obtained the Treasury Department Manifest documenting the arrival in New York and listing our names. Fast Ship[edit]

She made the California to Australia run in three weeks? I am no expert, but that seems a little quick to me. Can some Smart Person confirm? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 03:40, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
