  • In the lead, I'd recommend indicating when the transition from 1864 to 1865 first occurs, rather than not mentioning that events are in 1865 until the end of the year.
  • "The Navy Department evaded the Congressional refusal to order new ships by claiming that the Civil War-era ship was being repaired while building a new monitor of the same name." - When did this occur
    • The same year as she was scrapped.
  • The length given in the prose does not match the length given in the infobox.
    • Good catch.
  • "the turrets and the ventilation pipe was also hit five times with no damage recorded" - Since the subject of this phrase is "the turrets and the ventilation pipe", shouldn't it be were, not was?
  • The Medal of Honor ref is dead, but this looks reliable and is a decent replacement.
    • Thanks.
  • "possession of blockade runner SS Deer" - "of the blockade runner"?
  • "By 18 March, Commander William Ronckendorff has relieved Parrott in command of the ship" - had, not has
  • "Acting Rear Admiral Sylvanus W. Godon," - Rear admiral is duplinked here
  • "onadnock was assigned to the squadron commanded by Acting Rear Admiral Sylvanus W. Godon, which had been established to search for the Stonewall" - It would help to get some brief context here about the Stonewall situation
  • Chesnau and Kolesnick is cited, but isn't included in the reference
  • The Official Records need an OCLC
  • Category:New Hampshire in the American Civil War feels like a major stretch, as the only relation to NH is the namesake of the ship, NH doesn't seem to have had any further relation to the vessel.

That's it, good work, placing on hold. Hog Farm Bacon 20:40, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
