Sirs, I recently sent you a copy of the true log that I kept whjen I served on the USS Trego for 14 months from the time she was commissioned, until I was discharged fron the service. I kept the log on a running basis as thr actual events happened. I still have the original log book. I am wondering why all of the articles I read have left out the fact that the ship was run aground in Oyster Bay during itds shakedown cruise, and then had to spend several weeks in the Brooklyn Navel yard to have 22 plates removed and as well as having to have the screw removed and replaced with a new screw. I assume you received the copy of my log, which contains that information and yet I still finmd no mention of that incident. Clif Rockwell (Crockywell@aol.com) PS, since I wrote the log concurrent with all hapenings mentioned in the log, and it well preceeds the written information in your article, no copyright can take precedence over my information 152.163.100.134 23:22, 28 September 2006 (UTC)C.
