I'll try to see if I can get this reviewed quick enough for this to make a run for the DYK date. Hog Farm Talk 17:29, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • " c. 1,000 (2,763 combined with AA 11)" - in infobox but not verified in rest of article
    • Going to just remove this. I don't know who added it (I forgot to check over the IB) but verifying it would probably take adding some sources together. There's about ~650 died in the tower, 65 on the flight, plus any people on the ground (unknown number).
  • Ground casualties figure in the infobox also appears to not be verified in the body
    • Ditto
  • "The nine crew members included Captain Victor Saracini (51), First Officer Michael Horrocks (38), purser Kathryn Laborie, and flight attendants Robert Fangman, Amy Jarret, Amy King, Alfred Marchand, Michael Tarrou, and Alicia Titus" - source doesn't give Horrocks's, says Laborie was a flight attendant, not a purser,
    •  Done -- Added refs
  • " None of the Flight 175 hijackers were selected for extra scrutiny by the Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS)" - close paraphrasing, but source is PD I think, so you're fine
  • "At 08:52, Fangman called a United Airlines maintenance office in San Francisco and spoke with Marc Policastro." - source mentions this but doesn't identify Fangman by name, instead just saying "a male flight attendant"
    • Added a book ref
  • "Brian David Sweeney tried calling his wife, Julie, at 08:58, but ended up leaving a message," - source says 8:59
    •  Done
  • " He then said the hijackers were coming back and told his mother goodbye as he hung up" - source doesn't seem to say that he specifically said the hijackers were coming back, but that was speculation from his family as to why he hung up so quickly
    •  Done
  • "(Flight 175 came in from the southwest, but turned right, then left into the South Tower.)" - [citation needed]
    • Removed. I did come across this somewhere but I can't find where now.
  • "and the oldest was 80-year-old Dorothy DeAraujo of Long Beach, California.[citation needed]" - putstanding CN tag
    •  Done Couldn't find a source initially so was leaving it until later. Was much easier to find this time around.
  • "Some people above the impact zone made their way upward toward the roof in hopes of a helicopter rescue. However, access doors to the roof were locked. In any case, thick smoke and intense heat prevented rescue helicopters from landing." [citation needed]
    •  Done Added ref to WSJ
  • "The federal government provided financial aid - a minimum of $300,000" - source seems to be saying 500,000
    •  Done
  • " "Report: hijacked plane nearly hit flight from Bradley". SouthCoastToday.com. September 12, 2002. Retrieved August 19, 2012." - source link is dead
    •  Done
  • " Kausel, Eduardo. "Speed of Aircraft" (PDF). Retrieved August 15, 2021." - citation needs publisher
    •  Done

Good work overall here on a difficult subject, placing on hold. Hog Farm Talk 06:14, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All fixed I think? Thanks very much for the thorough and quick review! :) ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 12:40, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
