I think the area of interest is useful to know, and the additional information on this page is good to have, but I doubt that this sub-topic merits such a long discussion, even if it is a key concern. also, I doubt that it is for most companies when deciding whether to opt out of the CISG, as interest is not something that gets factored into decisions over international contracts, and usually only comes up at the end of litigation. I have made some substantial additions to this page while retaining the original text (except for some relatively minor updates and restructuring). The intent is to give those interested in the CISG a feel for the structure and possible future direction. There is also some discussion - which I hope will not be regarded as controversial. Update for Portugal

Portugal ratified the CISG in 2020 and it came into force in October 2021. Could someone update the map, please? Velho (talk) 20:36, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
