Modifications[edit]

Under the heading 'Stars' it states the 13 stars were added to commemorate the '13 colonies.' Is there some source for this? If not, surely they're there to commemorate the original 13 states. I know it may seem like knit picking, but if they'd stayed colonies there would be no American coins to put them on.

"In God We Trust" not universal[edit]

The inscription, "In God We Trust," was not universal on U.S. coinage until 1938, when the Jefferson nickel was introduced. The Buffalo nickel did not have it. Bill S. (talk) 06:38, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
