Untitled[edit]

Is the head of Southern Command given or is the government in the process of deciding on a new one? I ask because I can't find a link to the general or admiral in charge. Monksbane 4:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Ths USA = moving more nations from south to Northcommand?[edit]

- Realigning the USNORTHCOM and U.S. Southern Command areas of responsibility (AOR) by placing the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the USNORTHCOM AOR. "

NPOV, history missing[edit]

I've slapped an NPOV template onto this page, because it's very imbalanced and biased towards SOUTHCOM/the US military. Most of the (few) sources are in fact affiliated with the US military, and I find it strange that, one the one hand, there's a rather long and praising section called "Humanitarian assistance and disaster relief" while on the other hand, in the History section, the entire period 1963-1996 is missing (!). Personnel numbers[edit]

"USSOUTHCOM is a joint command[1] of more than 1,200 military and civilian personnel representing the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and several other federal agencies." This seems a bit low? Mcsteez (talk) 11:20, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion or merely a talk line. I removed, but not for any of these reasons. The center is under the NDU and not SOUTHCOM, as was erroneously stated.Garuda28 (talk) 17:51, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Controversies"?[edit]

This sentence from the intro seems unjustified: "As explained below, USSOUTHCOM has been under scrutiny due to several human rights and rule of law controversies in which it has been embroiled for nearly a decade." The only mention of rule-of-law and human-rights violations were not about USSOUTHCOM. The only controversy I could find was about the soldiers who got prostitutes. I recommend removal.
