What are official games?[edit]

I've always understood that some Olympic games are considered full internationals while others aren't. The issue revolves around the definition of amateur. Up to the 1920s, countries used different definitions for amateur. Therefore, through at least the 1928 Olympics, FIFA recognizes the games as full internationals. After that, they don't. Consequently, RSSSF and USSF have not counted the 1936 or 1938 Olympic games as full internationals. Mohrflies (talk) 00:35, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
