Upper Lowlands? That's quite the oxymoron. Surely Upper Thracian Plain(s) would be a better name? QuartierLatin1968 22:37, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Upper Lowlands is the most popular term used. It's not an oxymoron, it sounds exactly the same way in Bulgarian (the "low" meaning of "lowlands" is still there in "nizina", and gorno is exactly Upper). It's upper in the sense of being north of the Eastern and Western Thracian Lowlands, though it's not usually called the Northern Lowlands. But Northern Thrace is quite common. some info, northern thrace was inhabited by greeks and thrace was the whole part,meaning northern eastern and southern was all one region under Greece's name. some time after it was named Eastern Romilia(Ανατολική Ρωμυλία) and it was considered a separate country. some years later after the war the bulgarians chased the greek people oute of northern thrace and the turkish from eastern thrace only to come to greece — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.49.26.175 (talk) 02:13, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
