Why not in (general) tailings?[edit]

Why is this not merged with the main article -> tailings? Many aspects relate to tailings of uranium ore and other ores alike. (83.76.181.39 00:55, 12 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

The radioactivity aspect actually warrants some special considerations. I declined the merge. --Alvestrand (talk) 18:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, especially given the amount of federal legislation specifically concerning uranium tailings. Karmos (talk) 19:07, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wording[edit]

- 'Byproduct' implies a valuable good. Tailings however are a negative-value waste material. (83.76.181.39 00:55, 12 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

No, it doesn't. [1]. A byproduct a product which was not the main goal of process.
