Honours

[edit]

In English we do not say Spanish League or Spanish Cup or even Spanish Super Cup. But we call them La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de Espana. Also when watching a football game from Spain in the English language commentators, on Sky Sports, ESPN, BBC, ITV, FSC, Gol TV, etc..., refer to these competitions by their correct names. Therefore I ask you keep my revision of the honours section. Rupert1904 (talk) 16:15, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is true, only know the league as La Liga (KC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.167.140.150 (talk) 06:50, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious Information

[edit]

Caps and goal figures in the article likely contain European cup/Domestic cup data in addition to Domestic League data (this is very certain based on this user's previous edits containing similar information [1]. Please correct this issue and leave a note here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Alfmaster#Footballers.27_European_goals, to warn this person about putting improper information on Wikipedia. --Palffy 21:22, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update

[edit]

I've corrected the club appearances stats, but the whole article is very badly written and seems to be based entirely on personal opinion and could do with a complete rewrite. --steve1986_uk 23:40, 19 July 2006

"He only speaks Catalan and French."??? False, obviously.

Obviously factually false, but maybe he only speaks catalan and french by choice. I don't think so, however, because I'm almost certain I've heard him speaking spanish. --SatoshiMiwa 10:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox national team

[edit]

As January 1 2008, Víctor Valdés has never played with the Spanish A national team. So I delete the wrong information in the infobox, and add correct information in its place. --81.39.4.52 (talk) 16:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's the Catalonian National Team? UEFA sanctioned? Does it play in any international FIFA league? AFAIK Catalonia is an autonomous region, not a country. Please supply reliable sources. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 16:14, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As January 1st 2008 Víctor Valdés has never played with the spanish A national team, so what you have recovered is FALSE. "Supply reliable sources" about 1 internationallity for Victor Valdés in the Spanish A national team. I'll be expecting.
And Catalonia is a non UEFA sanctioned, but it's a national team. So it can be included. --81.39.4.52 (talk) 16:23, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This issue arises because the Catalonia team on its own wiki page states its a national team which has competed in international teams. It also included Valdes as an 'international'. Clearly it cant be both however I agree that Catalonia doesnt count as a national team (however Northern Ireland does but yet is also not an independant nation as per eufa and fifa, go figure) )KC)

Main pronunciation

[edit]

Why the only pronunciation of his name is in spanish, when he is mainly catalan-speaker and he said openly he's catalanist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Freecatalonia46 (talkcontribs) 14:51, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's right, I think it's [ˈbiktu βəɫˈdes əˈriβəs]. Gegenflagge (talk) 22:09, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
