that's it?

[edit]

the only source that this exists is a forum post?!?! Dsol 21:42, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are lots of sources if someone wants to make this a serious entry. Note: original rules - http://www.v7n.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23744 rules for additional prize (from Mike, Greg & Todd) - http://v7ndotcom-elursrebmem.webguerrilla.com/v7ndotcom-elursrebmem/

You can also read coverage: http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/060116-162523 http://www.searchenginejournal.com/index.php?p=2763 http://www.threadwatch.org/node/5310 http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=712

Hope that helps. This is a news item, whether it warrants a Wikipedia entry or not can only be defined by someone who's more familiar with the rules here than I am.

No, this doesn't help, sorry. These are all forum and blog posts. There is no way of verifying that this is for real. So far as I can tell, the guy who made the original post has not demonstrably declared any contest in any legal binding sense. There is no jurisdiction where the law forces him to pay someone, no fine print, no legalese, no accountability, no way of verifying this contest is legit, no way of verifying that previous ones have paid out; in sum, nothing notable at all and nothing meriting a WP article. Your opinion that these blogs and forums are unreliable fascinates me. It's your belief, then, that this contest cannot be verified by a source you trust and is therefore, potentially, fraudulent?

If you hold this belief, then by all means, delete the entry. Until May 15, when the contest is completed, I have no better evidence to help support it. There is no legally binding agreement I'm aware of and (to the best of my knowledge) all participants are relying on their faith in the word of the contest sponsors,

This is not just my opinion but also WP policy. No can just delete this article, not even an admin (which I'm not). Instead I've voiced my concerns at this article's deletion page. Dsol 11:28, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems amusing to me that Wikipedia, the encyclopedia anyone can edit (and hence create fake or misleading articles etc.) are saying that because this competition has only been documented in forums and blogs it isn't real! Pot > Kettle? Take your heads out of your asses.

Please read WP:V and WP:NOR, and please don't make rude comments about other users, whatever criticisms you may have. Dsol 15:59, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable Sources

[edit]

Most of the external links in the article are not valid as verifications of fact for a WP article. Please see WP:RS. All info that is not properly sourced according to that policy page will be removed shortly. Dsol 22:08, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
