VK = Vollkette or Versuchskonstruktion?[edit]

I changed the translation once, but since it got changed back i think a discussion is best: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VK_28.01 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VK_36.01_(H) As you can see in these articles, the german version says Versuchskonstruktion instead of Vollkette.

https://wotbfanzone.eu/forum/thread/125-deutsche-prototypen-was-bedeutet-vk-und-e/ This forum user also explains how the german tank naming system worked. Zille123 (talk) 01:46, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly nonsense posted there. In the Reichswehr it was Versuchskraftfahrzeug (VsKfz., Trial vehicle) for all military vehicle prototypes. Later on this was changed to Vollkette (VK) and Halbkette (HK) for fully or partially tracked vehicle prototypes. VsKfz may have still been used for fully wheeled vehicles.
