an inhabited locality (an urban-type settlement) in Chaunsky District of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Russia, located on the shores of Chaunskaya Bay (part of the East Siberian Sea). Population: 081.11.231.230 (talk) 12:16, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

this is all to do with the peculiar way in which Russian administrative systems work. Valkumey has not been officially abolished to my knowledge and so it is still technically an inhabited locality administratively even if no one lives there! Fenix down (talk) 12:55, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
